At the age of 19, she released Here, her first single. It was an instant hit that both critics and people who loved it praised it. It ranked 19th in both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the best songs in 2015. She debuted her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five tracks which reached the top spots on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. The song was unique because numerous people were able to relate to the interview she did with The Rap-Up crew about how she struggled to learn to love and admit to her. Cara's music has been praised for the messages it conveys of kindness, self-love and mental health. Her music is inspired by her own personal experiences as she suffered from mental health problems as well as insomnia. In an interview with Reuters she declared her album "half tumultuous" as well as "half perfected". It was therapy that has helped her develop and encourages others to do the same. Alessia Cara is a Canadian artist who was born July 11, 1996, to parents with Italian heritage. When she turned 10 years old, older, her parents bought her a guitar, which was the foundation of her passion for music.
